AI-Driven TB Elimination in Mizoram’s Mountainous Terrain

Project Context
Mizoram, a remote and mountainous state in northeast India, faces one of the country’s highest TB burdens. The combination of dense urban living, geographic isolation, and rugged terrain makes health service delivery particularly complex. Yet, the state also presents a unique opportunity for TB elimination: the majority of the population lives in just a few densely populated districts. This project was launched to leverage AI for targeted TB elimination, transforming how health interventions are delivered in hard-to-reach areas.
Project Objectives
-
Deploy AI to identify and predict TB hotspots in densely populated areas like Aizawl and Lunglei
-
Guide active case-finding (ACF) teams to high-yield locations
-
Monitor and visualize program performance in real time
-
Detect gaps in the health system that hinder TB control
-
Develop predictive models to identify presumptive TB cases and assess broader risk
EPCON's Approach
